Biography

 

Ariela Skazlic

I was born on the seventh of February in 1975. in Zagreb,Croatia. I finished my primary and secondary school of art in Zagreb. I attended the Academy of Art at Zagreb University and graduated with an "A" as a student of Prof. Duro Seder. In1992, when I was in secondary school, I spent some time in Canada where I was given the opportunity to study in Vancouver, but I refused, because I wanted to finish the Academy of Art in my own country.

As I was an excellent student, I was awarded a scholarship of city of Zagreb for 1996/ 97 and 1997/ 98. I usually work in oil. Also, I have made several sculptures in different techniques: wood, metal, terracotta, enamel, etc.

EXHIBITIONS:

GROUP:

  • 1992. The exhibition of the best pupils of school of Art in Zagreb. It was held at "Dom umjetnika Hrvatske"

  • 1993. The Department of defence and the Department of education and culture in Croatia provided a financial sponsorship for the exhibition. I was invited by prof. Miro Vuco with some other students from Zagreb and Rijeka

  • 1994. The idea for the monument of people who died for the freedom of Croatia. It was in cooperation with prof. Stipe Teskera and it was opened on 2 nd. January 1994. in Velika Buna.

  • 1997. The winter exhibition of students in Ivanic Grad

  • 1997. The exhibition of students of Academy of Art in Legrad.

  • 1997. The exhibition under supervision of prof. Zlatko Kauzlaric Atac

  • 1998. The exihbition of graduates in Library "Vladimir Nazor"

  • 2001. Exhibition in Krasic "Putevima Kardinala Stepinca"

  • 2001 Rijeka, Lovorka Kukanic - Art workshop

  • 2001 Zagreb Rehabilitation Center Paunovac (Svibanjski susreti) Art Workshop
